A Chinese hardwood altar table. the single panel top set ,over a wide apron elaborately carved with a "Shou" character and two bats on high relief, extending to shaped spandrels flanking rectangular section legs similarly decorated with "Xi" character ,the leg joined at the short ends by stretchers enclosing archaistic openwork brackets, and supported on shaped and further foliate carved slab feet
