Dated 1847 and signed with glass covers on sides and lid with lid having half length portrait of young man with rose, red and green gound, both sides with matching ground, front and rear with ined manuscript poems, front with name below of John W. ???larton, with four line poem above, rear with second four line inscription faded but dated at bottom, 1847, poplar in original brown painted trim, 6 3/4 x 4 3/4 x 3 3/4" high. Condition crack in lid cover glass and ink faded.
