French three-drawer commode en tombeau or bombe-form mixed wood veneered marquetry inlaid chest, having a swelled body, central roundel to top with flower basket with date of 1790 below, overall scrolled floral decoration including bouquets tied with lover's knots, and rising on scrolled front feet. Pencil signed / marked to back of cabinet. Provenance: From a Private Collection, Highlands, North Carolina; acquired from an estate chateau in Lyon, France. Approx.. h. 37.5", w. 52.5", d. 27.75".

Minor inlay loss with some shrinkage; evidence of previous worming (inactive); key is present; case is structurally sound.
