Autophone Company (American, 1877-1920s), late 19th to early 20th century. Oak cased twenty-note hand-operated Chautauqua Roller Organ or organette, together with ten cylinders including, "My Country Tis Of Me", "It's A Long Way To Tipperary", and "Nearer My God To Thee". Stenciled mark to top. Note: This organette appeared in the 1896 Sears Roebuck & Co. catalog. Provenance: The Private Collection of Ms. Jo Ann Gordon, Madison, Mississippi; by descent. Approx. h. 12.25", w. 18", d. 15".
