Description
A lovely set of four mugs by the well-known William Guerin of Limoges, France, are one-of-a-kind delicately hand-painted with flowers and cherubs accented in gold with gorgeous gold handles topped with a gold flower. Cups are stamped W.G. France on the bottom, and one is hand-signed "Leonard" 1904. William Guerin opened his porcelain factory in Limoges, France, in 1872. This city is located about 200 miles south of Paris and is known as the Haute Vienne. In 1768, Madame Darnet, the local doctor's wife, discovered a deposit of kaolin clay near Limoges at Saint Yrieix. DIMENSIONS: 4" high, 3.75" wide with handle.
