Signed and dated on lower right (in margin). A mesmerizing abstract composition by Steve McCallum with the clever title "Below-Up". The piece is created in McCallum's signature robust style that incorporates both Hard-Edge as well as Abstract Expressionist influences and has been linked to the likes of De Kooning and Stuart Davis. Despite these influences, McCallum's Postmodern style is unique, presenting his own signature spin on Non-Objective art. In addition to modern and contemporary art, the Allan Stone Collection includes tribal and folk art, Americana as well as select decorative arts and industrial design.
