This Tourbillon Skeleton watch has a 38mm x 48mm solid platinum case (including the lugs) that houses the exceptional rutilated quartz dial with inline tourbillon, which contributes to the exclusivity and innate value of this unique investment timepiece. The natural quartz is inherently unstable and difficult to work with, rendering conventional machining useless as it would smash the crystal and make the blank useless. Audemars Piguet worked with experts at Renaud and Papi to use abrasive liquid suspension on mineral crystal taking as long as an hour to only abrade 1mm. The hand-wound movement is viewable through the case back has been exquisitely hand decorated, and the transparent sapphire crystal dial displays index markers for hours, and includes small seconds at 6 o'clock, and 1 minute Tourbillon located at the 6 o'clock position with a seconds hand.
