Modernist depiction of a bald eagle with wings outstretched perched on a branch with large boulders and coniferous trees lining a winding river behind it. Sisson is best known for his landscapes of Maine and the southwest, combining abstract and surrealists elements into his work. When looking at the artist's previous auction sales this is by far one of the most impressive paintings to surface. Sisson has public works at Boston University, Portland Museum, Worcester Museum, Salem State College, Dartmouth College, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the National Park Foundation, amongst other organizations.
