oil on canvas, signed and dated 1880 at lower right, presented in a period gilt composition frame.
Frame dimensions 27 x 37 in.
Charles Leaver Shaw was originally a lace designer. By 1876, he was living in Nottingham, England and exhibited his first landscape painting at the Birmingham Society of Artists Exhibition.

Shaw is best known for his landscapes of Wales, Scotland and the English Midlands.
