Egypt, Romano-Egyptian period, ca. 30 BCE to 2nd century CE. A fabulous necklace constructed with dozens of glass beads in hues of blue, green, brown, red, orange, white, and yellow. The beads are presented in a variety of tubular, seed, double-seed, triple-seed, and barrel-shaped forms, and the central bead exhibits a lovely cobalt blue color. The gold-plated loop and lobster clasp capping the terminals makes this necklace a wearable for any occasion. Size: 17.2" L (43.7 cm); (largest bead): 0.4" L (1 cm)
Provenance: private Dunn collection, Coral Springs, Florida, USA, acquired in the 1990s

Condition
Strung in modern times and wearable as shown. Glass beads are ancient, and stringing and gold-plated components are modern. Minor nicks and encrustations to some beads, otherwise intact and very good. Nice remaining coloration.
