A collection of vintage original gelatin silver photographs by Martha Holmes Waxman (1923-2006), a famous American photojournalist who worked for LIFE magazine. Her most famous photographs were of Jackson Pollock and Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. By 1950 she was named one of the top 10 female photographers in the nation. The photos in this lot for auction are hand printed in darkroom lab from analogue film negatives and stamped at back with the artist info. The images capture a social event with some celebrities and famous socialite and personalities. Contains four pictures of the Russian classic ballet dancer superstar Mikhail Baryshnikov born in Soviet Union but later naturalized American. All unsigned but stamped.
