Pair of antique Russian porcelain tazzas (footed bowls) from the Kremlin service, the Imperial Porcelain Factory (St. Petersburg) 1855-1881. The bowls are painted with a black Tsarist double-headed eagle on a green rosette, exterior decorated with stylized floral designs against solid gold background. Legend around eagle reads: "NICHOLAS EMPEROR AND AUTOCRAT OF ALL THE RUSSIANS". The service was made for the Grand Kremlin Palace and was used at coronations and other important banquets, such as the Romanov Dynasty Tercentenary celebration of 1913; 8 3/4" H x 3 1/2" W.
