Just under 1" width, made by the open face mold method. Large heart form with nubbed quarter points bottom and of rounded edge flat section. The face hand is incised with addorsed foliate sprigs. The form of the heart is stylized with the top cusp absent. Both forms are used profusely in Nordic literature. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Light surface texture from burial. Professionally refurbished with the pure silver surface restored, on a Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
