Babe Ruth (1895-1948) Outfielder, pitcher. Ruth began his career as a star left-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox,but achieved his greatest fame as a slugging outfielder for the New York Yankees. He amassed a career total of 714 home runs. He was one of the charter members of the Hall of Fame in 1936. He is regarded as one of the greatest sports heroes in American culture and is considered by many to be the greatest baseball player of all time. 8 ½” x 11”, eighteen-page radio script for the January 26, 1933 broadcast, Edwin C. Hill ‘Ace Reporter of the Air’ in The Inside Story of Names That Make News” that featured “The Inside Story of Babe Ruth”, signed in pencil, on the cover. The script is also signed by singer, actor Nelson Eddy (1901-1967) and composer, conductor Nathaniel Shikret (1889-1982). Age-toned, rusted staple stain in upper left. Throughout the script there are notes relating to the production.
