Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Tairona culture, ca. 800 to 1500 CE. A beautiful and wearable necklace constructed from 87 hand-carved translucent, semi-translucent, and transparent quartz beads. Also known as rock crystal, these beads are gorgeous for their inherent icy presentation that invokes wonder, intriguing, and mysticism. Dozens of petite cylindrical beads line the necklace and are interspersed with several larger, tubular beads to catch the eye and captivate any admirer. Wearable as shown and strung in modern times. Quartz beads are ancient; stringing is modern. Minor nicks and abrasions to some beads, with light clouding within some beads, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to beads. Please note: this necklace does not have a clasp or adjustable component to the stringing, so be aware of necklace size.
