As Spidey foils an art gallery heist, Lee and Ditko use the occasion to mock the modern art scene. In one panel, Ditko depicts a gallery patron admiring a painting of a man's foot in a sock with the big toe poking out, and the patron says "Boy! I wish I could draw feet like that!" Attentive Spidey fans may recall that ASM #5's lettercol featured a comment from a reader who said: "One last thing about Ditko's art: he just can't draw feet right!! They look out of shape and flat." Is this Ditko's sly rebuttal, 17 issues later?
