Description
This wonderful, Tin Litho Beer Tray features a fantastic image of a 1914 painting by famed Western Artist Oscar Beringhaus titled "St. Louis Levee in Early Seventies". The image on the Tray depicts a bustling scene on the Mississippi River at St. Louis with the River boat; Robert E.Lee; at the dock being loaded with passengers and cargo. In the foreground there are stacks of crates and barrels of Anheuser Busch Beer and workers can be seen with cases of Beer on their shoulders headed for the massive River Boat. While the Tray carries a copyright date of 1914, it was issued by Anheuser Busch in the 1930's, shortly after the repeal of Prohibition. The Anheuser-Busch Trademark; Eagle and A; logo can be seen at the lower right hand corner of the image. This 1930's Anheuser Busch tray is not a reproduction or reissue but is an original 1930's serving tray manufactured by the American Can Company for Anheuser Busch Inc. Measures 17.5 by 12.75 inches. Condition note: this is a well worn, used vintage to antique item with patina of frequent use for its intended purpose, serving food and drinks.
