Description
Ancient Greece, Athens, ca. 5th to 4th century BCE. A fine pair of pottery kylikes enveloped in lustrous black glaze, each presenting a ring-form foot, a bowl-shaped body, a gently tapered neck, and a flared rim. A pair of swooping, tubular handles flanks the body of each ancient vessel. Size of largest: 7.2" Diameter x 2.3" H (18.3 cm x 5.8 cm)
Provenance: East Coast collection, New York Gallery, New York City, New York, USA, acquired before 2010.

Condition
Larger has resurfacing to bottom and interior of basin, as well as restoration to one handle. Both have expected nicks, chips, and abrasions throughout. Otherwise, more petite dish is intact and both are very nice with great remaining pigment.
