Description
A Russian gilt-silver figure of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov (1629-1676), Sazikov, St. Petersburg, 1861. The realistically modeled figure of the monarch depicted in ceremonial robes, holding the royal staff and orb, his finely-chased robe indicating a rich brocade, the Tsar shown wearing the traditional Crown of Monomakh. Mounted on a gilt-silver rectangular base. Marked with the Standart silver mark, and other Cyrillic and Assay marks on the base. Provenance: Bonham's Auction, The Russian Sale, Lot 352 November 26th, 2007, London. Total weight: 674 g.
