A carved wooden helmet mask embellished with hand hammered aluminum strips accenting the classic coiffure on mask and tall central finial. This Poro society mask was created by a Vai artist. Referred to as a bowu mask which is said to mean “long neck” and to characterize feminine beauty, and used to entertain the crowds at local festivals. The mask measures 24.5 x 8.5 inches. A simple display stand can be included for an additional $50.00. provenance: A Private New Jersey collection.
