Hard boards, original publisher's cloth, lettering on spine [soiling and wear]; 6" x 9"; former owner"s book plate [J.H. Van Landingham III], signature of J.H. van Landigham Jr. dated 9/15/05/ is inside front and back cover, 667 pages including index far over 100 text illustrations, + 14 pages of publisher's ads, back endpaper is missing, hand-written notes inside back cover, a few pencil markings, some soiling, good / very good condition.

From the library of John Henry van Landingham Jr. (1887-1937 and John Henry van Landingham III (1922-2014).
Mr. Van Landingham III graduated from Petersburg High School in 1939 and went on to graduate first in his class at Virginia Military Institute Class of 1943, with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He was also First Captain of the Corps. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served our country during WWII in France and Germany, earning the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Air Medal. After WWII, he returned to Petersburg, Virginia to begin working for Builders Supply Company of Petersburg in 1949 and was serving as Chairman of the Board when it closed in 2012.
