Description
This is an antique miniature silver-plated beer stein from the St. Louis World's Fair, Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904. The stein's central image is that of Cascade Gardens and says "St. Louis 1904" beneath the caption. Also beneath the traditional image and caption, there is another caption that says "Brew Masters' Convention. This would have been for a separate convention at the fair and would have been likely attended by Adolphus Busch, Willam J. Lemp, and other St. Louis and even national and international Brew Masters. The bottom of the stein has the mark of Apollo Silver Company and says "Quadruple Plate". There is also the name of Mermod Jackard Jewelry Company St.Louis, which was a famous jeweler with offices in St. Louis, later becoming Mermod Jackard King Jewelers. Stein is approx 4" x 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" and it weighs 0.31lb. The stein is in good, antique condition with some light wear and tarnish.
