Description
Central Asia, probably Turkmenistan or surrounding regions, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE; North America, probably United States, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A fine set of silver jewelry in a variety of forms. First is a petite American serpent pin made from 90.23% silver, and an American serpent bracelet formed from a strip of 93.96% silver. Next is a Central Asian penannular bracelet made from 96.5% silver with applied filigree, a pair of inlaid coral stones, and a central lapis lazuli cabochon. A slender Central Asian bracelet with a trio of spherical ornaments is formed from 83.75% to 87.19% silver, and an Central Asian 87.7% silver ovoid pin features an obverse decorated with foliate motifs. Size of largest (bracelet w/ 3 spheres): 2.875" W x 2.875" H (7.3 cm x 7.3 cm); silver quality: 83.75% to 87.19% for bracelet with 3 spheres, 87.7% for ovoid pin, 90.23% for snake pin, 93.96% for snake bracelet, and 96.5% for inlaid bracelet; total weight: 88.6 grams
