Description
Two bronze decorative objects: The first a French figural inkwell featuring a hen standing next to egg form inkwell (missing glass inkwell), mounted on a circular base - the tail is signed illegibly - late 19th to early 20th century, very good condition; and the second a bronze plate depicting "The Landing of Columbus" in the Americas, after a painting by John Vanderlyn - note that this same scene was used as the cover of a full plate union case to hold photographic images (per Swan Action Galleries Oct 25, 2016 sale) and similar examples of this artwork also appear on Columbian Exposition articles including medals and stamps - late 19th century - the plaque measures 7" x 9" - very good condition.
