Description
"The Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan, A 700 Club Edition with Foreword by Pat Robinson, Preface, Memoir of John Bunyan, and Author's Apology, published by CBN University Press, 1978.
Faux leather, gold decorated front board and spine [a little surface soiling and wear: see photo]; 5.1/2" x 8.1/8"; marbled endpapers, name written inside front cover; back endpaper has a corner fold, xvi + 304 pages, a few small page corner folds, very good/ fine condition.
Bunyan's book was written over 300 years ago, as a result of a vivid dream he had while in prison for preaching the Gospel. After several centuries it still remains popular. The most well-known allegory ever written, this journey of the protagonist, Christian, is simultaneously filled with vivid and full human portraits of its characters.
The first edition of "The Pilgrim's Progress" in 1678 was followed by others with additions, and in 1684 by the second part. "The Life and Death of Mr. Badman" appeared in 1680. Some say that John Bunyan's famous allegory about Pilgrim's journey to the Celestial City is second only to the Bible itself in the number of copies sold worldwide.
