Description
A fine miniature Persian Reza Pahlavi period (1919-1980) painting of a scene depicting men playing Chovgan, a predecessor of polo. It was a sporting team game with horses that originated in ancient Iran. Chovgan was considered an aristocratic game and held in a separate field, on specially trained horses. Painted on the natural material plaque. The calligraphic signature is on the upper right. Presented in an old gilt wooden frame. Persian hand painted miniature, antiques and collectibles for home decor.
