Description
17th c. Walnut Chest of Drawers, with elaborate marquetry inlay and carved decoration, top having corner and central scrolled and fleur-de-lis inlaid panels and carved overhanging edge; three drawers below, each with three raised inlaid panels, original drop bail pulls and lock hardware (no keys), central drawer panels include images of rampant lion, stag and cockerel; case with foliate carved side molding and drawer surrounds; set on a carved bracket base and shaped feet; paneled sides; oak secondary wood; 48 3/4" high, 60" x 24". Shrinkage cracks to top and sides; veneer and molding losses; losses to left side of top surface; left side panel hole; surface wear commensurate with age; worm damage.
