A QING DYNASTY "DRAGONS AND PEARL" GOLD COUCHED SILK HANGING PANEL, POSSIBLY LATE KANGXI/EARLY YONGZHENG PERIOD, 1720s, of horizontal rectangular form and peach color ground centering a stylized flaming pearl flanked by two writhing five claw profile dragons with fierce roaring expressions, meticulously detailed with gilt couched silk threaded scaly bodies outlined in shades of blue, green, and white serrated fins embroidery, amidst trailing wispy ruyi clouds and set over kesi alternating embroidered rolling and crashing waves above Lishui bands, hand-stitched to a neutral silk panel and coveredĀ in a UVA transparent lucite frame, height: 23", width: 62 1/2"; with frame, height: 33 1/4", width: 72 3/4".
Condition
Good condition for antique Chinese silk panels of this age, use, and materials including but not limited to faded areas, spots, light stains, old repairs, some splits, losses, and loose threads.
