Rare Pre-Columbian Stone Mask, Condor Huasi-Alamito Culture, Catamarca Province. Features an anthropomorphic face with pronounced brow ridge and nose, drilled perforations with carved ridges indicating the eyes and mouth. Additional drill holes line the outer edge of the mask, possibly to affix it with fibers to an armature. Provenance: Arte Textil, San Francisco, CA. Size: 9'' x 5.5'' x .5'' (23 x 14 x 1 cm); Height on stand: 12.5" (32 cm). Ex. Cathryn Cootner Estate Collection, Sonoma, CA.
