Mose Ernest Tolliver
Alabama, 1920-2006
Depicts a large orange bird with open beak against a stark white background. Tolliver started out as a gardener, eventually given free reign to design flower beds as well as painting houses. After becoming injured, Tolliver was encouraged by Raymond McLendon, a client of his to take up oil painting.
