Sixth plate daguerreotype, with highlights in gold and silver. 8.2x7 cm (3¼x2¾"), with brass mat, cover glass and brass preserver, in embossed leather over wood case, with gilt border, metal clasp.
Portrait of a uniformed, boldly mustachioed, officer around the time of the Mexican-American, quite likely a participant in the conflict.
Condition
Case with just a little rubbing at the corners; image tarnish around borders, a few spots; overall very good.
