The 'Mexican Collection' is one of Zandra Rhode's best documented collections with examples held in a number of museums, including the Victoria & Albert Museum.

In her book The Art of Zandra Rhodes the designer discusses how 'one morning in Oaxaca when I woke up very early, I saw some banana palms just by the camp site. I made some sketchbook notes on how I imagined large real sized banana leaves would look on the human body'. Rhodes also notes that this was the collection where she began to 'develop the art of dying beads to match or co-ordinate completely with print and chiffon colour statements.'

Appears to be in good condition, with no apparent teas or rips. Some small signs of age as expected.
