OUTSTANDING HOODED MERGANSER DRAKE by Jim Sprankle, Conklin, NY. Excellent original paint and condition. Very detailed painted feather work overall. Extremely detailed feather carving to entire head and body. Relief-carved shoulders and individual raised, crossed wing tips. Very broad tail with fluting and carved feather detail. Head with very detailed carving to the comb. Bill with mandible and nostril carving. Retains glass. Head is turned just slightly right. Realistic feet are carved into the body. Felt bottom with maker's name branded in bottom. Dated 1979. Overall length is approximately 14 1/4 inches. Exceptional in all respects. 800-1200
