Description
Amelia Earhart was an aviation pioneer, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic as well as many other records. She actively promoted civil air travel and aviation for female pilots. By 1928, she was the first female to cross the Atlantic by air as a passenger. In 1932, she made the trip piloting a Lockheed Vega, the first woman to do so. She joined Cosmoploitan Magazine Oct. 23, 1928 and served as its Aviation Editor until 1930. During that time, she used her position to promote civil aviation and air travel. She and Charles Lindburgh were instrumental in establishing the first regional air shuttle service between New York and Washington DC. in which she had a financial interest. This is her business card while working for Cosmopolitan Magazine as Aviation Editor. Note minor edge staining.
