Potts Civil War Confederate Bayonet [143901]

Item Details

Description

This Confederate, unmarked T. A. Potts (of New Orleans) bayonet is about 17 in. overall length with a 12 in. X 3/16 in. X 1 1/4 in. blade. No scabbard provided. In very good condition. This bayonet was meant to fit any number of muskets however poorly. This one has the forward ring removed, possibly to fit one musket better than another. The rear ring has the familiar vise marks on either side. The blade is still very sharp with some bluing remaining, minor scuffs and scratches, light patination and one-piece rosewood grip.
