Gorgeous pictorial pass for "The St. Augustine Route" of the East Coast Line of the Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Indian River Railway. Pass no. 615 issued to Jas. Sherwood for 1895. Green and white text on yellow cardstock with vignette of Flager's Ponce de Leon Hotel in St. Augustine. Printed by International Bank Note Co. New York. Pre-printed signature of Henry Morrison Flager, an American industrialist and a co-founder of Standard Oil with John D. Rockefeller. Flager was a key figure in the development of the Atlantic Coast of Florida. He is known as the "father" of Miami and Palm Beach, Florida. The pass is also signed on the reverse by Joseph R.
