Steve Cull (1910-1999) Oil on Canvas "Climbing Roses". In wood frame, linen and gilt wood liner. In frame measures 34"x38"x2". Weight 7 pds. Raised in rural Kentucky, Steve Cull was a painter in modernist folk art style of that environment, which includes rolling hills and horse ranches and also portraits and genre of local people including children. After spending some years in the navy as a very young maln, he worked from age 17 and then returned to Kentucky where he worked in Goshen for 20 years at the U.S. Post office.
