GERMAN BISQUE-HEAD DOLLS, LOT OF TWO, each having sleepy eyes and painted features; comprising a J.D. Kestner No. 154 doll having a shouldered head and incised "154 Dep. 11." to back of head, jointed leather body with bisque arms/hands and composition shins/feet, "JDK. / Germany / 1/2 CORK / STUFFED" label to chest, including detached blond wig; and a Simon & Halbig No. 570 doll with socket head and "570 / Germany / SIMON & HALBIG" incised to back of head, currently detached from composition jointed body and legs with printed "Heinrich Handwerck / Germany" mark to side of hips. Late 19th/early 20th century. Kestner 22 3/4" H.
Condition
Heads undamaged with minor wear, discoloration, and surface marks; Kestner body with discoloration, wear, tears, flakes on feet, and other imperfections, wig in poor condition; composition body with legs currently detached, hairlines/flakes, and other imperfections.
