Description
This is an Antique handmade stoneware bottle circa 1800's. These bottles were used to bottle the naturally carbonated spring water from the springs in the Nassau region of Germany. This water was called Selters, or seltzer. At the time the making of these bottles was a cottage industry. Features the Nassau Selters logo on the side with the Imperial eagle and the maker's initials and number under the handle. The number indicates the year, this bottle has a 59, which would be 1859. This is approx 4" x 3" x 12 1/2" and weighs 2.5lbs. The jug is in a good, vintage condition with some wear and chips, and looks very good for being around 162 years old.
