Description
Early album leaf with calligraphy in black ink on a gold floral ground, with multiple colored borders with gold and surrounded by gold floral decoration. Attributed to Mir 'Imad Al-Hasani. Translated on a separate sheet as: "He is the dear one, from the day you started to paint our eyes with kohl, you made the houses of all Persians black. At night when your face appears in a house, it lights the house so like a moon" and "Transferred to me on this date (1855) Given to me by my friend Mirza Musa, I give this Musa Ali Khan on condition that he see that the children do not spoil it. Asmat." Label for Kirkpatricks Art Store, Est 1874, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Persian writing in ink in various hands to verso.
