A Chinese yellow-ground textile with a front-facing dragon dating from the 18th century. The dragon is chasing a flaming pearl. The textile has a green-ground border with geometric patterns.

Dimensions are: the sight area of the textile excluding the border measures 19 inches tall X 25 1/2 inches in diameter, 48.3 cm X 64.8 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: There is splitting, staining, and significant spotting. There are some loose threads.

Provenance: The lot comes with a copy of provenance documentation. From a collector in Atlanta, Georgia. She and her late husband owned a department store in Atlanta, and they were world travelers. Most of the items in their collection were acquired by them from the 1940s to the 1970s.
