Description
This is an early state survey map of Iowa. The surveying was not completed yet in the northern and easpecially in the northwest portion of Iowa. The Sioux Indian Territory Boundary is identified. A number of towns are shown, including Dubuque, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Davenport and Burlington. Fort Des Moines is identified. Signed in plate "Surveyor General's Office, Dubuque October 21st 1852 George B. Sargent Sur.r Gen.l"
