112 pp. With hand-colored lithographic half-title, presentation leaf, and 30 botanical plates. 25.5x19.4 cm (10x7½"), original green cloth boards decorated in blind with morocco cover labels stamped in gilt.

Bennett believes the first printing of this floral color plate book occurred sometime around 1845. A charming work, representative of the more elaborate 19th-century American floral plate books. Each of the beautiful plates is accompanied by sentimental text.

Condition

Front cover detached, spine strip lost, rubbing and bumping to boards; leaves coming loose, foxing throughout; good deserving of repair.
