A letter addressed to Casey Kasem from the 1989 Hiroshima/Nagasaki Commemorative Peace Committee thanking Kasem for his participation and contribution to the Peace Program held on August 6, 1989 at the Los Angeles Baha'i Center. The letter is signed in black ink on page 2 by Muhtadia Rice of the Baha'i Office for Peace, Judy Imai of APANA, and Kaz Suyeishi of the Atomic Bomb Survivors.

The letter, in part, reads: "Casey, words cannot really express how grateful and honored we feel to have had your participation on August 6th. Your association with the Baha'i Office for Peace, Asian Pacific Americans for Nuclear Awareness and Atomic Bomb Survivors of the United States enhanced our ability to achieve our goals: to gain visibility for Hibakusha; to find a permanent home for the Hiroshima Peace Flame; to express our collective desire to eliminate nuclear weapons; and to unify diverse and like-minded peoples working for world peace."
