French Three Piece Louis XVI Style Polychromed Carved Beech Parlor Suite, c. 1900, consisting of a well carved recamier and a pair of medallion back fauteuils, all with leaf carved edges, on turned tapered reeded legs, in gold striped velvet upholstery with iron tack decoration, in pale green polychromy, Recamier- H.- 36 1/2 in., W.- 66 in., D.- 29 in., Fauteuils- H.- 37 in., W.- 24 in., D.- 24 in. Condition consistent with age. Shrinkage cracks at most seams where wood is joined together, however all frames are solid and sturdy. Wear through finish to wood on armrests, and general wear to finish and surface dirt present throughout. At least three decorative nail heads are heavily oxidized to bright blueish-green on chaise. Three decorative nails missing from one of the side chairs. Velvet stripes in upholstery completely worn on seats of sided chairs, and around edges of chaise. Upholstery on armrests fully worn to warp. Cushions sturdy. Would benefit from a deep clean if buyer does not mind wear to upholstery, however some buyers may prefer to entirely reupholster the set. Stunning examples in need of some light restoration.
