Description
Maurice Levis (1860-1940, French), "Juillet Banques la Marne," 20th c., oil on canvas, signed lower left, titled en verso, "R. Lerondell, Emballage d'Objects d'Art, Rue Blanche, Paris" paper label en verso, presented in an ornate gilt frame, H.- 17 3/4 in., W.- 25 in., Framed- H.- 24 3/4 in., W.- 32 1/2 in.
Condition
The canvas could benefit from a re-stretching. The borders of painting, particularly the top and sides show paint loss and rubbing from frame. There is one circular brown spot in water area of painting. This painting may have been previously cleaned before, but it’s not certain. This is a very handsome example.
