Description
Important J. F. Brower 1 Gallon Signed Jug Masonic Stamp born 1848-1911 this is a fantastic salt glazed jug from Western North Carolina, Randolph County. These come up from time to time with the J.F. Brower and a encircled coggle wheel stamp. Then you have the stamp as is on this example with a Masonic stamp, and this puts its into a scarce category. Very few examples have surfaced over the years. The jug has a elongated horizontal handle. Very nice matured salt glaze of a rich brown color that gives way to a nice grey background. Heavy orange peel feel glaze. Condition is great has a stress line due to a small rock in shoulder. Note not a hairline and is water tight. No chips or hairlines or repairs. Fresh example from a South Florida collection. Great important investment example for a scarce North Carolina that will make a fine addition into your stoneware collection. Standing 12" Tall
