Description

Sioux Chief's Hair Pipe Breast Plate 19th C. Unique original hair pipe breast plate attributed to the Sioux Native American Indians in the 19th Century. Harness leather and trade string construction with excellent bone hair pipe and brass beads, an early original round metal framed trade mirror, 1887 Indian Head Cent and brass covered iron trade beaded neck piece. Provenance: North American Auction Company, Bozeman, MT, June 3, 2017, Lot 162; ex private Native American Artifact collection in France. Size: 16'' x 12'', (41 x 30 cm) plus an additional neck collar piece. Property from the Jim and Kit Horne Collection.
