1970 Hiwatt UK custom DR504 amp head with 4-12in cabinet. Amp Head: #1479 Cabinet: #1668. Black in color. Amp head in excellent condition. This beautiful 1970 Hiwatt DR504 head amplifier with matching 4-12 inch speaker cabinet. Based on the pot codes, all stamped from 1970, this early amp and cabinet was built by Dan Reeves in his garage in New Malden before expanding to a commercial facility in 1972. This is one of the cleanest sounding amps this owner has ever played through. The amp head is in great condition. Hylight 4- input, open frame Patridge Transformers TG95.7-G9485 PT & TG6556/2-G9484 OT, pots, all wiring, white output jacks, input jacks, Tolex, tubing, chicken knobs, handle, 100% original. The USA power plug conversion is not original because the amps were original made in England. Presently this head is loaded with 2 Russian EL34s. Speakers are labeled; Made in England by Goodmans Loudspeakers Ltd, professional speaker, power range, audio 12P-D, 50 Watts, Nominal. The cabinet has suffered transportation damage as can be seen on the identification plate. The cabinet split catty corner. Metal brackets on each interior corner were installed, does not effect performance. Amp includes both head and speaker cabinet covers, a Pete Cornish HD-2 heavy duty speaker cable, power cord, and cabinet feet. Would make a great addition to any shop, collection or home.
