Mann, David (B. 1948) American artist painting. Oil on board - UNSIGNED. One side depicts a native American on horseback with a rifle. Other side depicts a native Americanon horseback surveying the scene. Board measures 22x28 double sided unframed. This unique piece was painted in the late 80s-early 90s by David. He felt unsatisfied with the paintings and therefore did not sign them. His sister Sherry Mann chose to keep them for her collection. Born in Utah, the artist lived among the Southwestern tribes during a two-year mission in New Mexico and Arizona. During his timewith the San Carlos Apache, Navajo, and Pueblo tribes, Mann absorbed layers of meaning that give depth to the human stories he tells. Condition: Fine-chips to edges of board.
